Media attendance is strictly limited. Journalists interested in attending or receiving further information may email their
request to Linda Cartlidge or contact the organisers directly. A limited number of
journalists and photographers are invited to participate or attend the various activities. Privacy of invited guests
(superyacht owners, captains and guests, VIP’s) is respected and exposure limited should this be requested.
INVITED MEDIA may join the ‘Media Welcome’ opening day 16th December 2010 at which time details of the event will be
shared by organisers of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous. Organisers and a few of the key Sponsors will be introduced by
organisers. Details of media boat attendance during race days Dec. 17 & 18 will be announced.
ASR Race Director Andy Dowden will address participants at the ‘Captains Briefing’ following the ‘Media Welcome’. Following
the Briefing all guests will be transported by boat to a cocktail party aboard the Superyacht, “Sililona”. Shuttle bus will
be provided to/from from host hotel The Chedi to Nai Harn Bay and the Purvana Hotel for the ‘Media Welcome’ and the ‘Captains
Briefing’.

Race#1 South to North - Nai Harn Bay to Surin Bay
Participating yachts will sail around a course, both days, set out by Andy Dowden, our long-serving Race Officer at the
Captains Briefing 12/15.
Race #1 will start at Nai Harn Bay and finish in front of The Chedi Phuket. ‘Captains Bags’ with event material and
regalia, T-shirts and event banner to be flown while sailing will be distributed.

‘The Challenge’ & Cocktail Party at The Chedi
The popular “Challenge” is a gutter boat race where crew from the competing yachts are required to construct a unique model
boat from a simple kit and with only one team member’s wind power, blow it down a 3m gutter course amidst cheers and jeers
from all!

Always the highlight of the event, The Chedi Phuket will present a choice of sumptuous delights from East and West, for
which it is renowned; served overlooking the beauty of Thailand’s coastline. Live music and dancing continue as the launch
of Chinese Lanterns from the sea’s edge draws the evening to a close, forging friendships with plans to rendezvous at the
same time and place next year!

Crew Party BBQ on the Beach!
Crew members, guests and media are invited to join in the festive and fun “Beach BBQ & Party”, held at an adjacent
(to The Chedi) beach. Free flowing beer & beverages and an ongoing delicious barbeque dinner will highlight an evening of
casual fun and sport and DJ’s and dancing – right on the beach under a tropical moon at the ocean’s edge.
